Rick Easter

Rick's an Essex lad and spent his first 24 years residing there before moving south of the river to the 'Garden Of England' when he got married.

His love of radio started back in the 60s when in short trousers overhearing the pop music being played by the pirate radio stations of the time, Radio Caroline and Radio London 'Big L'. This led to recording DIY radio shows on a Ferguson 'Reel to Reel' tape recorder owned by his older brother.

After leaving school Rick went into the travel industry having failed to get a job as a telephone engineer. He spent 20 years working for different companies specialising in business travel and finally became manager of the travel department at the South Bank TV studios. Radio was still in the blood and Rick worked freelance at weekends for a community radio station and for a commercial station in Crawley, West Sussex.

Rick was also in demand for providing voice-overs and has provided the service for GMTV, Granada TV, BBC and others.

Rick was invited to talk to Premier prior to the station going on air back in 1994 and was offered a position as a presenter and the rest as they say is history.

Rick has been married for over 25 years and has been a Christian for the past 22. He has 2 grown up children and one very nearly plus a grandson too. His pastimes include owning and maintaining a 1964 MGB sports car and digital photography.
