'Thy Kingdom Come - healing through the Lord's Prayer'

Premier presenter Cindy Kent and the director of the Christian Healing Mission, the Revd John Ryeland, explore ways that the prayer can help us as we pray for healing.

This 6 week programme takes an in-depth look at The Lord’s Prayer, the Our Father, the Paternoster, the prayer Jesus taught us, a powerful prayer known all over the world. It’s in both the gospels of Matthew and Luke as Jesus is teaching his disciples how to pray.

What’s on:

Programme 1
The opening words: Our Father - who art in heaven. Cindy and John explore whom we pray to and healing issues of Fatherhood.

Programme 2
Hallowed be thy name. What do we mean by hallowed? How to heal our self-image and knowing our sense of worth.

Programme 3
Thy Kingdom come. Does that mean our kingdom must go? It’s not just about my agenda but finding out what Jesus wants to do and how he longs to meet with us.

Programme 4
Give us bread for the day. Is God concerned with our basic provisions - does he supply our wants or our needs? We need healing and God longs to give it to us.

Programme 5
We ask to be forgiven. How important is us being forgiven and forgiving others? We need freedom from our past and healing.

Programme 6
Lead us not into temptation. Would God really lead us into temptation? How to avoid things that might later become issues for healing.
