Saturday 7:15pm and Sunday 4:15pm
"God’s Healing Love" is a weekly radio programme from the Methodist Central Hall Westminster. The programme features the Revd Dr. Malcolm White, coordinator of the healing ministry at the Methodist Central Hall and the Revd Martin Turner, team leader and superintendent.
A message from Martin Turner:
‘In past years our healing ministry has grown in both its reach and in God’s blessing upon it, with hundreds being helped and some finding remarkable healing. We hope and pray that people will be blessed as they listen, and also that the healing ministry here at Methodist Central Hall will continue to grow still more as a result.’
The healing ministry referred to in ‘God’s Healing Love’ programme is in no sense offered as an alternative to medical care. Medical help should always be sought as God works through the gifts of medical science and the professional medical staff. The churches were at the forefront of founding hospitals.
In our individual prayer we ask that Jesus in the power of the Spirit will meet you at your point of need to restore you to health in body, mind, spirit, and relationships. This reflects the concern of Jesus for the whole person. Recovery from disease is what we hope and pray for; another possibility is that we are strengthened by God to cope with our illness or disability. Beyond our quest for individual healing there is a need for healing in human society, scarred as it is by war, injustice and oppression.
The Church's ministry of healing is therefore one of reconciliation and forgiveness. Confession of sin, and receiving God's forgiveness, are necessary to open the way for God's healing power to flow to bring recovery of wholeness of body, mind and spirit, and for healing the broken relationships between ourselves and God, and between one another.
