A Tale of Two Megachurches

Justin Brierley and his wife Lucy, who is also a church minister in Surrey, decided to visit the USA to explore the mega church phenomenon.

They visited two of America's largest and most influential churches. Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas is led by TV pastor Joel Osteen. The other, Mars Hill Bible Church is led by Rob Bell, whose "Nooma" DVDs are best sellers around the world.

In this road trip of their experiences and encounters they discover that the two churches may both be large but are radically different in outlook and style.

Recorded at Imperial College London this was the second of two debates that took place on Sat 27 Feb 2010 in response to the UK screening of the Intelligent Design film "Expelled".

Prof. Keith Fox - Professor of Biology, Southampton University. He holds to "theistic evolution" - that there is no conflict between evolution and Chrsitian faith.

Dawkins Debates

Justin Brierley spoke to prominent atheist Richard Dawkins after his debate with Professor John Lennox at Oxford University in October 2008.

In the course of their discussion Dawkins makes some surprising admissions on whether evolution can explain our moral instincts on rape, and even whether he may harbour a belief that there is a cause to the Universe beyond the realm of science.
